Delete your account

You can delete your NearMatch account and the data linked to it at any time. Deleting is permanent: it cannot be undone, and a deleted account cannot be restored.
Delete your account in the app
- Open NearMatch and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account, then confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
Ask us to delete it without the app
If you cannot use the app any more (for example, you lost your phone or your access to your Apple or Google account), email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my account".
- Write from the email address of the Apple or Google account you signed in with, if you can.
- Otherwise, include the phone number verified on your account.
To make sure we never delete someone else's account, we may ask you to prove that the account is yours, for example with a code sent by SMS to that number. We handle every request within 30 days and confirm by email once the account is deleted.
What is deleted
- Your profile: first name, date of birth, bio, interests, lifestyle answers and zodiac signs.
- All your photos, including photos you uploaded but never published.
- Your matches and every conversation. The people you matched with see the match end.
- Your likes and passes, your check-in history, the blocks you made and your consent records.
- Your phone number, your email address, your Apple or Google sign-in identifiers and your push notification token.
- Your Sign in with Apple authorisation, which we also revoke with Apple.
What we keep, and for how long
- Reports filed by or about your account, and the copies of conversations attached to them: up to 24 months, for safety and to defend legal claims. Only our moderators can see them.
- An empty record with an internal ID and no personal details, so that those reports stay linked to each other.
- If the account was banned: its phone number and sign-in identifiers, so that the same person cannot open a new account, for as long as the ban lasts and at most 24 months.
- Encrypted backups, until they are overwritten on a rolling basis.
Details are in our Privacy Policy. Questions: [email protected].
